Our Story

Employees of the Sempra Energy family of companies are an integral part of communities we serve. It was out of the passion our employees have to make their communities a better place to live and work that the Sempra Employee Giving Network (SEGN) was born. It was quickly understood that there is strength in numbers, and that thousands of employees can make a real impact in our communities.

Each of us has a different passion. Each of us has a different gift to give. Together, we are making a difference. As our communities are dealing with greater needs and less resources, our help is more important than ever.

Who We Are

The Sempra Employee Giving Network (SEGN) is a 501(c)(3) public charity formed by and for employees of the Sempra Energy family of companies. Through this program, employees can make charitable contributions to the charities of their choice through one-time or ongoing payroll deductions.

Employees can also designate their contributions to their local advisory council. These councils are made up of employees who serve as local advisors in six regions. They provide input on requests from community organizations in the areas of health and human services. With the oversight of a national board, councils make grants to local charities on behalf of those employees who designate their contributions to the SEGN fund.
